Separated from the mainland peninsula of Peljesac by a channel of only one mile, Korçula’s main town is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean.
The house in which Marco Polo supposedly was born in 1214 can still be seen in town.

Pier Information Depending upon local conditions the ship will either dock or anchor. Either way the landing pier is close to the center of town. Taxis, though limited in number, should be available in the pier area. Most everything is within easy walking distance.
Shopping For souvenirs you might find typical clothing, local fragrances and gold jewelry in shops around the Main Square of the Old Town.
Cuisine As in any Mediterranean port, you can expect to find wonderful fresh fish. As Korçula is a resort, eating options are numerous. Local wines are also well worth sampling.
Other Sights Korçula has a rich scenic coastline with many nice beaches and quaint villages such as Vela Luka, Pupnat and Smokvica. The island has green vineyards, olive groves and dense pine woods making a countryside drive a pleasant outing.
