This small
village on Tupinambarana Island is part of the largest river archipelago of
the mid-Amazon, 250 miles east of Manaus along the river route. In existence
for two centuries, Parintins is rich in Indian culture, which is portrayed
in the celebrated annual Boi Bumba festival. A stadium with a capacity of
30,000 was built in 1988 as the venue for the festival, known locally as
"Bum Bódromo." Silversea guests will be treated to a special performance of
music, singing and dancing, much like that of the annual Parintins festival. |
