Pier Information
The ship is scheduled to anchor. Guests will be taken ashore via the ship's tenders to the landing at the tiny harbor. The whole of Portofino is within easy walking distance. Taxis are generally available some 600 yards from the pier if you wish to take trips further afield, but who would want to go anywhere?

Shopping. There bargains are to be found in finding items that might not be found, but for the exclusivity of Portofino. Art Galleries feature the works of many renowned artists who make Portofino their home. Some shops close from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Cuisine. Overlooking the harbor are several trendy restaurants. Deluxe hotels offer a dining experience which will be remembered for impeccable service and excellent cuisine (reservations are required). Among the best-known is the Hotel Splendido, located in a private park above Portofino, and Il Pitosforo Restaurant overlooking the harbor.

Other Sights
 Fortress and Church of San Giorgio. Portofino's two prime historical sites are the church and the fortress built as fortification against Turkish attacks. The church can be reached by walking up a flight of steps, a rewarding experience for the magnificent view over Portofino. The fortress can be visited on a walking tour of the promontory.
 Genoa. The city of Genoa is about a 40-minute drive away. Here you find big-city life, old palaces, opulent churches and a bustling commercial center.
 Resorts. Local boats and public buses connect to other popular resorts, such as Santa Margherita and Rapallo. Two miles out of Portofino is Paraggi, where a sparkling cove is a good place for a swim.
